Less is M'organic...OMNI Medical Center's List of Top Foods You Should Always Buy Organic

More and more scientists are beginning to agree that certain doses of pesticides and other chemicals can possibly cause damage to human health, especially during fetal development and early childhood.

That's why many of the foods we consider 'staples' at home should be purchased in organic form only, especially if your goal is to see big results on your hcg weight loss program.

Here's a small list of OMNI Medical Center 's recommendations for foods other than fruits and vegetables that are best bought organic in order to reduce our consumption of antibiotics, hormones:

--Meat. To meet USDA standards, certified organic meat can come only from animals fed organic feed and given no hormones or antibiotics. Buying cuts from only grass-fed animals ensures that you're eating meat from an animal that was fed a more natural diet, rather than food treated with pesticides, hormones, or antibiotics.
--Milk. Pesticides and other synthetic chemicals have been found in many dairy products -- milk is of special concern because it is a common part of a children's diets. Organic dairies cannot feed their cows with grains grown with pesticides, nor can they use antibiotics or growth hormones like rGBH or rbST. At OMNI Medical Center we recommend almond milk for our patients as well as their children.
--Celery. Because it has no protective skin, it's almost impossible to wash off the chemicals used on this conventional veggie. Buy organic celery to ensure you're not having any pesticides or synthetic chemicals with your greens.
--Peaches. Multiple pesticides are regularly applied to these delicately skinned fruits in conventional orchards.Purchase non-treated fruits from your local farmer's market or organic grocery store.
--Strawberries. If you buy strawberries when they are out of season, they are most likely imported from countries that use less-stringent regulations for pesticide use.
--Apples. Similar to peaches, apples are typically grown with the use of poisons to kill a variety of pests from fungi to insects. Scrubbing and peeling them doesn't necessarily eliminate chemical residue completely, so it's best to buy organic when it comes to apples (our OMNI Medical Center wellness consultants always keep organic apples from the Fresh Market in our break room!).
--Spinach. This favorite of Popeye can be laced with almost 50 different pesticides, which makes it one of the most contaminated green leafy vegetables.
--Grapes. Imported grapes run a much greater risk of contamination than those grown domestically. Vineyards can be sprayed with different pesticides during different growth periods of the grape, and no amount of washing or peeling will eliminate contamination because of the grape's thin skin.
